Itinerary
Day 1 – Lancaster, PA – Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre
Arriving in Penn Dutch Country this afternoon, your group will check into a comfortable first class hotel for a two night stay. Tonight, enjoy a dinner show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. Since 1987, the Dutch Apple has been an entertainment favorite in Lancaster County. Enjoy top shows, professional entertainment, and a delicious meal. Throughout the year, Dutch Apple presents one popular show after another – From classic musicals to contemporary hits. Many of the performers at Dutch Apple have performed in national tours. Day 2 – Amish Buggy Ride – Kitchen Kettle Village – JOSHUA at Sight & Sound Theatre
This morning after breakfast, enjoy an authentic Buggy Ride through Amish Farmland. Along the back country roads, you’ll see the Amish growing their crops, such as corn and alfalfa. Some of the Amish farms have remained in the Amish families for hundreds of years, dating back to when the Amish came to the New World in the 1700s. If the Amish country roadside stand is open, your driver will stop for you to purchase some goodies. Your buggy will also pull into a private Amish home, and the Amish girls will come out with a tray of goodies, such as homemade lemonade and root beer.
Your tour is followed by free time at Kitchen Kettle Village. With over 40 specialty shops, restaurants, and plenty of hands-on activities including a self-guided tasting tour in the Jam & Relish Kitchen.
The afternoon features Sight & Sound Theatre’s newest show, JOSHUA. From the banks of the Jordan River to the towering walls of Jericho, JOSHUA is a miraculous adventure for the whole family. Journey alongside the people of Israel as they navigate their new-found freedom in an unforgiving wilderness. When Joshua is called to replace Moses as their faithful leader, tensions mount in the midst of dwindling supplies and approaching armies. With one last fortified city standing between the Israelites and the Promised Land, unexpected help emerges from behind enemy lines and Joshua’s trust in God’s plan is put to the ultimate test.
After the show, enjoy a family-style dinner at Hershey Farm Restaurant or similar restaurant. (D)
