Itinerary
Day 1 – The Crystal Coast – Oceanfront Lodging
Arrive today in North Carolina’s Crystal Coast, an 85-mile stretch of beaches known as the Southern Outer Banks. Check into your Oceanfront Hotel (as available) for a two-night stay. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2 – Morning for Beach – Free Time Downtown Beaufort, NC – Wild Horse, Dolphin & History Cruise – Seafood Dinner – Beaufort Ghost Tour
Enjoy a leisurely free morning for the beach before heading to Beaufort, NC for lunch on own and shopping along the Beaufort Boardwalk. Beaufort’s historic and picturesque downtown is one of the most visited and most acclaimed town centers in the Inner Banks. Filled with a history that intermingles seamlessly with shops and restaurants.
The afternoon features a Wild Horse, Dolphin & History Cruise around the islands of the Crystal Coast. This tour goes up Taylor’s Creek past beautiful waterfront homes and the Rachel Carson Reserve. You will also see places such as Fort Macon, Pivers Island, and even past Shackleford Banks, where you will have a chance to see the famous wild horses roaming the shore!
During the cruise, be on the lookout for dolphins as they frolic in their natural habitat. Don’t forget your camera for lasting memories of some of the most beautiful sights on the Crystal Coast.
Return to Beaufort for a seafood dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, take the Beaufort Ghost Walk and take a walk with your haunted guide, who shares their own story of betrayal, treachery, and tragedy from the Golden Age of Piracy, Colonial and Civil War eras, or the early 1900s including the legends of the infamous pirate Blackbeard! Day 3 – Fort Macon – Depart for Myrtle Beach – Choice of Dinner Show
This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Fort Macon, a Civil War era fort and waterfront state park. The fort was built in 1826 and used during the Civil and Spanish American Wars.
Located at the eastern end of Bogue Banks, one of a series of barrier islands along the North Carolina coast, the park is surrounded on three sides by water. This area of undisturbed natural beauty is the perfect place to explore the salt marshes and estuaries so vital to the coastal ecosystem.
Depart for Myrtle Beach, SC where you enjoy oceanfront lodging for the next two-nights. Enjoy some time this afternoon for the beach or to relax at the hotel before dinner this evening.
Tonight, you have your choice of dinner shows: Pirates Voyage, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Polynesian Luau & Fire Dinner Show, or one of the area’s Murder Mystery Dinner Shows. (B,D)
Day 4 – Brookgreen Gardens Tour w/Lunch – Barefoot Queen Riverboat Cruise – Free Time at Barefoot Landing – Evening Show
The morning features a guided tour of serene Brookgreen Gardens, part of a 6000-acre estate that was once four rice plantations. More than 500 works of American sculptors are on display in the gardens, as well as wildlife and historical exhibits of South Carolina animals and artifacts. Lunch will also be included today with your visit to Brookgreen Gardens.
The afternoon includes a sightseeing cruise on the Barefoot Queen Riverboat along the Intracoastal Waterway. While aboard this 70 foot authentic wooden riverboat with 2 cooled/heated interior decks and three outdoor deck spaces, you will be able to enjoy the scenery, the history of the area and the wonderful fresh air.
Enjoy some free time for shopping at Barefoot Landing. Featuring national retail shops, quaint boutiques, an impressive selection of restaurants and eateries. Unique shops such as: Tiki Jim’s, the Okive Shoppe, Tassa Cabana, The Mole Hole, Dixie Outfitters, Christmas Mouse and Crabby Jack’s General Store to name a few.
Dinner is included tonight at a local restaurant followed by your choice of evening show. Choose from the following shows: The Carolina Opry, The Alabama Theatre, Legends in Concert, GTS Theatre, the Broadway Theater or Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre. (B,L,D)
Day 5 – Depart for Home
