Itinerary
Day 1 – 1,000 Islands – Alexandria Bay, NY
Travel today takes you to the 1000 Islands region of Upstate New York. Here, you arrive in Alexandria Bay, NY for a two-night stay at a local hotel. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel. (D)
Day 2 – 1,000 Islands Boat Cruise w/boxed lunch – Single Castle Tour – Boldt Castle Admission
Today, board an Uncle Sam’s Boat for a cruise along the St. Lawrence River and a chance to explore the famous Thousand Islands. A Boxed lunch will also be included today with your cruise.
Included with your cruise is a tour of the Singer Castle on the Dark Island. Singer Castle was built at the turn of the century by Commodore Bourne, president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, as a hunting lodge. It remained in his family for half a century until it was bought by Reverend Martin in the 60s and established as a religious retreat. Learn about the mysterious history and possible haunting of Singer Castle on this unique cruise to Dark Island. (Singer Castle is not handicap accessible.)
At the end of the cruise, your vessel stops at Heart Island, where you have can tour the world-famous Boldt Castle. This six-story castle is a testament to love and loss, left uncompleted and deserted in 1904 by its owner, George Boldt, after the death of his wife. Now owned by the Thousand Island Transit Authority, the castle has been restored and improved upon, making it one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Thousand Island Region and in all of Upstate NY. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the castle and its grounds then reboard your vessel and return to Alexandria Bay.

Day 3 – Antique Boat Museum – Albany, NY – New York State Capitol Building Tour
This morning, stop in Clayton, NY for a guided tour of The Antique Boat Museum. Discover the largest collection of Antique and Classic boats on display in North America. Stop by the boat shop to see a restoration in progress. The Museum collection promotes the importance of boating to the cultural history of North America and the St. Lawrence River in particular.
Arriving in Albany, NY this afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the New York State Capitol Building. Sitting atop Albany’s State Street hill, the New York State Capitol has served as the seat of government for New York since the 1880s. The building is a marvel of late 19th century architectural grandeur, built by hand of solid masonry over a period of 32 years. Highlights of the 45-minute tours can include the legislative chambers, Hall of Governors, Governor’s Reception Room, Hall of New York, historic staircases, and carvings.

Day 4 – Tour of Wing’s Castle – Millbrook Vineyards & Winery Tour & Tasting – Depart for Home
Stop this morning in Millbrook, NY for a tour of Wing’s Castle. This unique stone castle was built by hand by the owners using 80% recycled materials. There is no other place like it in the whole world! (Tour subject to availability).
Then visit nearby Millbrook Vineyards & Winery for a tour and tasting. Enjoy High-quality Hudson Valley wines with views of the vineyard and Catskill Mountains. Depart for home following your visit. (B)
