Itinerary
Day 1 – Manhiem, PA – Holidays at Mount Hope – Free Time in Lititz, PA
Travel today to Manheim, PA and the Mount Hope Estate. It was built in 1800 as a grand rural retreat for four continuous generations of the wealthy colonial American ironmaster Grubb family. Renovated and enlarged at the height of the Victorian Era, it is a simply delightful estate, particularly during the holiday season when she is dressed in her holiday finery.
Here you enjoy the annual Holidays at Mount Hope. Interact with the talented cast members inside the magnificent Victorian Mount Hope Mansion, decorated with Holiday delights! Sit back and enjoy the show as they perform some of your favorite classic stories table-side and on stage!
Also included with your visit is a four-course meal enjoyed as the cast travels from room to room, caroling, telling holiday tales and playing parlor games. Following the meal, enter the chapel room where the cast will delight with a Christmas performance. The Mansion bar will be open for drink purchases during the duration of the performances.
Then check into your local hotel for the night. Enjoy free time in Lititz, PA. Boasting a vibrant downtown, Main Street and Broad Street are lined with unique shops just a short walking distance away from beautiful Lititz Springs Park. Lititz offers trendy eateries, craft beer, and one-of-a-kind coffee and pastry shops. Dinner on your own this evening.
Day 2 – Tour & Pretzel Making at the Julius Strugis Bakery – Depart for Home
After breakfast, visit The Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery for a tour and pretzel making. The Bakery was founded in 1861 is the first commercial pretzel bakery in America; and the Sturgis Family is the oldest pretzel baking family in America. Learn how Sturgis’ old fashioned recipes and methods were established and how they’re still used today!
You will tour the original pretzel bakery, get a hands-on lesson in pretzel twisting using a playdough mixture, observe our bakers twisting old-fashioned soft pretzels by hand, and shop for delicious treats and souvenirs in our bakery store. Depart for home after your tour.
