Itinerary
Travel today on an Anderson Coach motorcoach to Castile, NY. Here you meet your local guide for a tour of Letchworth State Park. Known as the “Grand Canyon of the East,” this 14,350-acre scenic park features scenic beauty including three large waterfalls between cliffs, as high as 600 feet in some places, each carved by the Genesee River and surrounded by lush forests. The Park is especially beautiful during the fall.
Then enjoy lunch at the Glen Iris Inn. Formerly the estate of William Pryor Letchworth, the Glen Iris Inn has welcomed guests since 1914. The Inn overlooks Middle Falls on the Genesee River and is surrounded by the beauty of Letchworth State Park.
While at the Park, visit the William Pryor Letchworth Museum. It tells the story of Letchworth State Park from the prehistoric era to modern times. It houses its benefactor William Pryor Letchworth’s personal collections, including Native American and pioneer artifacts as well as Civilian Conservation Corps materials.
Late afternoon departure for home.
