Itinerary
Today, travel with Anderson Coach to Berlin, OH for an Amish Brown Bag Tour. Enjoy free ‘brown bag goodies” courtesy Anderson Coach & Travel!
First meet your local guide for the day then start with a visit to Hershberger Bakery & Farmers Market. Ohio’s largest Amish family owned
bakery is filled with baked goods and local grown produce. Walk out to the petting zoo where you get to pet Big King (the largest registered Belgium horse in Ohio). You will enjoy shopping at the farm store full of local made items.
Next, visit Heini’s Cheese Chalet. Here you will enjoy free samples of over 50 varieties of natural cheese, and delicious Gourmet Cheese Fudge. Heini’s offers also offers a large selection of meats from traditional Amish style to more specialized meats like Souse and Head Cheese. Brand new to the Heini’s Cheese is their Country Gift Shop. Stop in at the Country Gift Shop for authentic Amish hand-crafted gifts only available at Heini’s Cheese Chalet. Take a piece of Amish country home with you.
Then stop at Kauffman’s Country Bakery. A family-owned for over 30 years, Kauffman’s Country Bakery is a hidden gem tucked away in the village of Bunker Hill. All the products are made by a team of Amish women at the bakery, who produce hundreds of cookies, pies, loaves of bread and other fresh homestyle goodies daily. Don’t miss their famous Grape Pie.
Next, visit Walnut Creek Cheese and shop for a great selection of bulk foods smoked meats, cheese, jams and jellies, bakery items and much more. Walnut Creek Cheese also makes some of the best homemade ice cream in the county and even features season flavors.
At the Walnut Creek Marketplace, spend some time at this 70,000-square-foot indoor shopping center featuring a variety of eateries, vendors and products. Antiques, rugs, clothing, plant, kitchen accessories are some highlights found here. Browse over 100 booths all under roof, climate controlled & wheelchair accessible. Also plenty of places to sit and relax! You will also find a new winery and brewery in front of the Market.
Last stop today is Sol’s in Berlin, Ohio’s largest craft mall. Simply put, Sol’s in Berlin is an arts and crafts extravaganza. Sol’s features three stores, Sol’s Palace, Sol’s Exchange, and Sol’s Kit-N-Kaboodle and each one is full of specialty and craft items you’ll love.
Dinner is included this evening at the Der Dutchman. Enjoy Amish-style foods served around the table the old-fashioned family way. Taste the traditions with homemade biscuits, Roast Beef, Turkey, mashed potatoes, creamed corn and more. Be sure to try their legendary peanut butter pie for dessert.
Depart for home following dinner.
