Tour Terms:

• A $500 Group Booking Deposit is due immediately to hold rooms.
• Final Payment or Cancellation is due by Nov 15, 2024
• Groups must be must be paid in full by Nov 15, because regardless of the winner.  This election is historic and demand will be extremely high.  We strongly suggest you purchase all rooms available in your block (even if they are not sold out on Nov 15), since these may still sell and likely won’t be available later. Availability is already very slim and quite expensive.
• Please ensure that all travelers who sign up are ready to pay in full directly after the election. Full payment for all packages is due in our office no later than Nov 15, 2024.
• We suggest you collect the full payment, refundable until Nov 15, in order to hold seats and make this trip work.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Saturday, January 18 – Washington DC – Capitol Hill Tour – JFK Center of the Performing Arts

Arrive this afternoon in Washington DC, the Nation’s Capital.   Where you will witness the Inauguration of America’s 47th President and join in this Nation’s Celebration of Democracy.

This afternoon you start with a Guided Tour of Capitol Hill. Your local guide will give you an in-depth tour on all things Washington DC, as well as Inaugural history. This tour will include a visit to Capitol Hill where you’ll climb the famous “Hill” for a tour of the most recognizable symbol of democracy: The Capitol Building, the seat of the US Government. Tour the Capitol Visitors Center, the Library of Congress, and see the Supreme Court. (visits subject to change based on availability)

This evening, take a stroll through the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts where you’ll see the larger-than-life bronze bust of John F. Kennedy, our 35th President. View the breathtaking landscape of the Nation’s Capitol from the rooftop terrace, and experience the new JFK Exhibit. Afterwards, enjoy a Welcome Dinner included at a local restaurant before checking-in to your area hotel for a three night stay. (D)

Day 2 – Sunday, January 19 – Arlington National Cemetery – Monuments & Memorials City Tour – Patriotic Inauguration Celebration Dinner

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your local guide for a full day of touring.  Begin the day with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery where you will see the Kennedy gravesite and other presidents interred within America’s most sacred square mile.

Next, enjoy a Monuments & Memorials City Tour.  This tour will include visits to the following monuments and memorials: Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, and Eisenhower, Vietnam War Veterans & Korean War Veterans Memorials, as well as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

This evening, enjoy a Patriotic Inauguration Celebration Dinner.  This elaborate Red, White, and Blue Dinner Event features Patriotic Entertainment, complete with a cash bar, and special guests such as: Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Uncle Sam, himself! (B, D)

Day 3 – Monday, January 20 – Inauguration Day – Inauguration Parade & Festivities – Free Time for Smithsonian Museums

Rise and shine very early this morning and make your way into the city for Inauguration Day. A “Grab & Go” breakfast will be included this morning.

Today, you will witness the Inauguration of the 47th President of the United States in Washington, DC. The ceremony will be held on the west front of the U.S. Capitol. This is the 60^th Presidential Inauguration, several served two terms, and it is your chance to witness history in the making as a newly elected President will deliver the Inaugural Address.

Following the Ceremony is the Inaugural Presidential Parade (seating not included). The Parade will make its way down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.  This exciting, historic event will be accompanied by various festivities throughout the day.

There will also be time today for you to visit the Smithsonian Museums of your choice on the National Mall.  There are many museums to choose from but The National Portrait Gallery and the National Museum of American History both feature exhibits on Presidential history.

Return to your hotel to freshen up for an included dinner this evening near your hotel. The evening is free to rest, relax, or explore on your own. (B, D)

Day 4 – National Archives – Ford’s Theatre – Lincoln Cottage or Woodrow Wilson House – White House Visitors Center – Free Time at The Wharf – Depart for Home

 This morning after breakfast, visit the National Archives.  The Rotunda of the National Archives Building in downtown Washington, DC, displays the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.

Next, tour the historic Ford’s Theatre and the Peterson House. Restored as it was the night John Wilkes Booth shot President Abraham Lincoln, Ford’s is still an active theater today.  Visit Ford’s Theatre and step back in time. While at our historic site, you will learn about the events of April 14, 1865, and the lasting impact of Lincoln’s assassination on our nation.

Afterwards, you’ll explore either the Lincoln Cottage or Woodrow Wilson House. President Lincoln’s Cottage is a historic site and museum located on a 250 acre campus in Northwest Washington, D.C. Here Abraham Lincoln made some of his most nation-changing decisions and developed the Emancipation Proclamation.

The President Woodrow Wilson House is the home to which President and Mrs. Woodrow Wilson lived after leaving the White House in 1921. Open to the public since 1963, the Woodrow Wilson House is decorated much as it was when President Wilson lived here, replete with his art, photographs, furniture, gifts of state, and presidential memorabilia. Ask us about First Lady Edith Galt  Wilson and rumors that she acted as President for his final year in office because of his debilitating stroke.

This afternoon, discover something amazing at the White House Visitor Center where you’ll get a peek at life in the White House and the historical records of Presidents past.

There will be free time for lunch on own along The Wharf, a new waterfront boardwalk featuring with a variety of exciting restaurants, food halls, and shopping. Depart for home having witness history. (B)
